Inspiration and Final Design Explanation
Concept/Electroliquid Aggregation from "The Marker 2" Post.
To Become inspired by nature is to push the limits of design...
Through the inspiration of Neri Oxman and Cedric Price, I have put together a design of what I believe is an example of pushing the boundaries and natural form. By using a style similar to that of Cedric Price's Aviary in London Zoo, and incorporating the idea of natural and cellular form I created a fragmented voronoi column with a facade reminiscent of the Aviary. Having a curvilinear structure flowing from the rectilinear column pushes the brief as they clash and mould in to one form.
At the bottom of the flowing structure, vines grow up the base of the wires to emphasize its unity with the environment. This also enhances the fluidity of the structure.
The stairs lead to a wooden box that the public are welcome to explore. Inside there will be interactive screens and articles relating to the sports park. This information could possible include its historical Aboriginal ties, the Sydney Olympics or the sporting teams.
Throughout the column there will be lights installed so that at night it will be noticeable and draw attention from the M7 highway. The colours demonstrated in Render 5 display the colours of the lights which were inspired by the colours of the Blacktown International Stadium's logo.

The Marker 2
